The World Through My Eyes…

I guess it’s a sign that it’s been too long since I posted something when I have trouble remembering my password!  lol.  I need to do better!

Things to catch up on:

We had such a good Easter!  I of course couldn’t wait to dress Claire up in her first Easter dress.  She grabbed the toys out of her basket and everything that morning. 🙂

Shawn’s 27th Birthday was last week!  We celebrated by having a cook-out at our house.  This was the first time I’ve ever hosted anything at my house.  We ended up having alot of people and had just enough food! Whew!!  I think it ended up going really well though.  I really enjoy it when my family and Shawn’s family is able to visit and get to know each other better.

So anyway, onto what the title of this post is about.  I have so many differnt songs on my ipod that I’ll end up skipping past a song many times before I listed to it again.  While I was driving home the other night I landed on a song I hadn’t listened to in a while.  It was a song from the band Fuel.  After the song started it instantly brought me back to the point in my life I was at when I first got the CD.  It always amazes me how music can do that.  I was 15 and on our annual vacation with my family and my BFF got to go that year.  We were 15.  I had gotten the Fuel CD and she had gotten Incubus.  (I’m really amazed that I remembered all of that!)  When I think back to the person I was then it’s amazing to see how much has changed and how differently things happened in my life than I pictured they would be.  At that time Shawn and I had been dating a little over 2 months and he was able to drive down for a visit one day of vacation.  By the time the song was over I was sitting there thinking over my life.  Right now I actually have pretty much everything I wanted back then.  No, I didn’t get a college degree like I wanted and of course I’m not rich (lmao) but I have everything I’ve ever really wanted in life.  The road to get here was really the part that was so different from what I pictured.  It was filled with a mix of good times, pot holes and bumps but it got me to where I am now and I wouldn’t change it.  The older I get the more I’m able to appreciate any hard time I’ve gotten through, it makes you stronger and smarter in the end.

So thank-you to all of my family and friends who I’ve kept all along the bumpy ride that is called life.  I adore all of you more than you’ll know.  June can’t come fast enough for Shawn, Claire and I to officially become a family of 3. 🙂

I had my first wedding “event”!  We all went to try on dresses at David’s Bridal on Saturday!  I had so much fun!!  Now I really feel like the wedding is real, haha.  All of the girls looked so good in their dresses.  I had only planned on trying on a few wedding dresses to just pick out a style but I ended up coming home with THE dress!!!  It was on close-out too!  Many thanks to wedding-savvy Brittany for keeping the saleswoman in check and remembering everything we needed to do!  We all went to Olive Garden (yum!) afterward.

On Sunday we had Claire’s baby dedication at Church.  I have been looking forward to that for so long!  We put her in a fancy dress and a pink headband. 🙂 Right in the middle of the prayer she decided to spit up all over the stage!!  Of course we didn’t bring a spit rag up there with us, so I hoped everyone kept their eyes closed and used her sweater for clean-up!  She was so pretty and good though.  She fell asleep on me right after we sat back down.  We all went to Wood Grill afterward to chow down. 😉

After the wild winter we’ve had I am so happy to start seeing the trees budding and flowers blooming!  I had some daffodils bloom in the back yard thsi week and they are so pretty. 🙂  I’m really enjoying being able to come home and open the windows.  The house needs to be aired out after being cooped up for so long!

There is a possibility of seeing some snow flakes today and I really don’t want that!  I want to keep the 70 degree weather now!

I’ve got an exciting weekend coming up.  Tomorrow we’re headed to David’s Bridal to try on and pick out bridesmaid dresses!  I can’t wait to see all of the girls in their dresses.  I’ll be trying on wedding dresses for the first time too!  It’ll be the first mini-road trip of the year!  Then Sunday Claire is being dedicated at church. ❤ I’ve been really looking forward to that since she was born. 🙂

Hello and welcome to my blog!  This is my first attempt at this so bear with me please!! 🙂

I am a new mother to a beautiful 6 month old baby girl and recently got engaged!  I’ve had a very exciting past few months and can’t wait to see what the future holds for us.  We’re getting married in June so I’m sure there will be plenty of wedding planning stuff on here!

I want to travel all over the world and I spend alot of time looking up destinations and planning trips that I can hopefully go on one day.  I love to shop but never seem to have the money to do much!  I’m working on loosing weight and becoming more organized.  I know how to be successful on a diet I just need to stick to it!  And while I don’t want to be perfectly organized I could certainly do alot better, I’ll take any organizing tips!  I’m becoming a coupon collector, especially for baby things.  I’ve only bought a few baby things that I didn’t have a coupon for so far!

I’m looking forward to sharing my life and thoughts on here!
